Melynda Davis, Soprano

 Lyric soprano Melynda Davis continues to gain widespread attention across New England for her wonderful legato line and beautiful vocal color. Known for her versatility in opera, oratorio, and art song, she maintains an active presence as a premier vocal artist and arts administrator based in the Greater Boston area.

Upcoming & Recent Engagements

​

• Trilogy: An Opera Company: Upcoming will sing the role of Alice in Mask in the Mirror by Richard Thompson

• Boston Lyric Opera: Performed in the ensemble of Daughter of the Regiment at the Emerson Colonial Theater (April–May 2026) and Macbeth (October 2025). She was also part of the company's Pulitzer Prize-winning production of Omar. Upcoming will perform in William Tell as part of the 26-27 Season

• Brockton Symphony Orchestra: Starred as Micaëla in a staged concert version of Bizet's Carmen in May 2025, collaborating with Opera del West. 

• Masterworks Chorale: Featured as the soprano soloist for summer performances of Rutter's Requiem (July 2025) and Mozart's Requiem (June 2025) at Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA. 

• Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO): Joined the ensemble at Symphony Hall for productions of Gounod's Faust and Bellini's Norma, following a prior appearance in their production of La Traviata. 

• Opera on Tap Boston: Curated, produced, and performed in specialized showcases including Celebrating Black Excellence—championing works by Black composers—and the Broadway cabaret The Ladies Who Lunch at Club Café. 

• Greater Worcester Opera: Made her highly anticipated company debut in 2022, singing the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica
